EDUCATION:

The education system in Liberia is slowly progressing from a prolonged period of civil unrest, and the 2015 school closure due to the Ebola Viral Disease outbreak.  Liberia is behind most other African countries in nearly all education statistics.  Sadaya International’s Vision is to establish a network of schools in Western Liberia that will totally transform education in the country.  Our Mission is to provide transformational life changing opportunities for the next generation of Liberian leaders through quality primary and secondary education and elite sports development programs. We will achieve our goals by always working to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a classical, content-rich education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue in an orderly and disciplined environment.

Youth and Sports development PROGRAM IN LIBERIA: sadaya football academy

Picture
Sadaya International's goal is to use the power of sports to inspire, motivate, and encourage children and youth to stay out of trouble and focus their attention on things that will enable them achieve success in their lives.  We recognize that not all players will go on to earn a living from playing sports; therefore, we will provide other opportunities for players to acquire quality college preparatory education while learning their football skills. We want our players to have a better life even if they not successful in their sports careers.
Our youth sports program is for players (boys and girls) ages 6 through 19, and is designed to provide players with opportunities to learn technical and tactical skills that will enable them improve their soccer skills. As the players grow and improve, they are moved through the next age groups where they receive coaching tailored to their age and abilities. The final step of the process comes when they graduate from our U-19 team, where they are usually invited to join our premier team (Sadaya United) in Monrovia.

our men's soccer team IN LIBERIA: sadaya united

Sadaya United was established on December 24th, 2005 in Littleton, Colorado by Mr. Thomas Fahn and family. The team was established with the sincere commitment of developing young and disadvantaged players of Gola Konneh District residing in the Brewersville area.  Sadaya United operated in the area for few years and tremendously impacted a lot of young players.  Unfortunately, the dream died down as a result of some leadership issues.  As God could have it, Coach Lawrence Jayweh, who coached the junior team at the time decided to keep the dream alive.  He continued coaching the junior team with limited resources. Today, majority of the current men's team players were once playing on the junior team.  The dream of Sadaya United is still alive all because of the loyalty and dedication of Coach Lawrence Jayweh.  Our men's team currently plays in the third division bracket of the Liberian Football Association national league, and our goal is to get the team promoted to the first division bracket. We want to become one of the largest self-sustaining football organizations in Liberia that provides opportunities for young players to transform their lives through Football and Education.

The goal of our Public Health Education program is to protect the health of our people and the communities the live. To achieve this goal, we host regular seminars and presentations and where we educate our people, especially the youth on key topics such as:
- The effects of Drugs, alcohol and tobacco on the youth
- Sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancy
- The effects of Violence and crime
- Proper hygiene and sanitation
- Stress Management, etc.
We are also using the universal power of sports as a platform for communicating messages on health education, health promotion and disease prevention.

adequate sanitation

There a tremendous need for Latrines and Toilets in the rural communities of Liberia.  Proper sanitation facilities will allow people to dispose of their waste appropriately. In most rural communities in Western Liberia, many people do not have access to adequate sanitation facilities. Without basic sanitation facilities, our people will live in unhealthy environment contaminated by human waste.  As a result of the improper waste disposal, germs and diseases are spread quickly among the people through the soil, food, water, and flies.  Sadaya International will work with the local communities and other non-governmental organizations to engage in the construction of latrines and toilets in Tahn and other nearby towns and villages.  We want to promote health and prevent diseases among our people.
